In our latest episode, we sit down with Neema Pathiyil, PA-C and Carolyn Varghese, FNP to discuss “Common Eye Diseases Encountered in Oncology Patients.”
Objectives include:
- Describe the role of an APP in Ophthalmology at a Cancer Institution.
- Describe basic eye anatomy and function of the retina.
- Discuss imaging used to evaluate retina health.
- Describe causes, symptoms, and treatment of common retinal pathologies such as: Retinal tears, Retinal detachments, Diabetic retinopathy/Radiation retinopathy, ERM, Macular holes, Macular degeneration, and posterior vitreous detachments.
- Discuss procedures performed by an APP in Ophthalmology.
