CAR-T Challenges: Early Storms and Long-Term Realities: In this episode, we sit down with Katie Marcucci, DMSc, PA-C, CPAAPA to discuss “CAR-T Challenges.” 

Objectives:

  1. Describe the most common early complications of CAR-T therapy: cytokine release syndrome (CRS) and immune effector cell–associated neurotoxicity syndrome (ICANS)
  2. Identify key strategies for early recognition and management of these acute toxicities
  3. Recognize important late complications of CAR-T therapy: cytopenias, infections, hypogammaglobulinemia, secondary malignancy, and BCMA-specific toxicities of IEC colitis, peripheral neuropathies, cranial nerve palsies, and Parkinsonism
  4. Apply best practices for long-term monitoring and supportive care of CAR-T recipients
